We are a social enterprise that is using technology to provide access to clean and safe water and sanitation for the vulnerable and refugee communities in Uganda.
WaterKit policy ensures that at least 90% of every donation is delivered to the target consumer, We spend just 10% on our administrative costs. This ensures that we reduce the cost of delivering our value to our customers and help the generous donors realize value for every dollar they donate to help the vulnerable people we serve.

WaterKit’s journey started in 2019 as a local idea that sought to address the local community problem of frequent breakdowns in community-owned water systems such as handpumps and mini-grid solar tap water. We first had a simple easy-to-use Mobile App for community reporting of breakdowns and we were getting good near real-time data on water systems breakdowns. We then realized that these systems were taking weeks to months before they could be fixed and when we tried to find out the reasons, we discovered that actually, the biggest challenge was the lack of available budget/finance to fund the repair and replacement of essential spare parts. So, we started innovating around making this funding available when needed and this led to the development of WaterKit Wallet. Through the wallet, communities can save on their water source wallet and be eligible to apply for maintenance microloans (which is at 0% interest). Today, the Wallet is being diversified to provide other essential Water, Sanitation, and Clean Energy Products on the 0% interest credit model.
