About WaterKit

WaterKit is the only enterprise in Uganda operating a fully profitable, donor-independent service model for rural handpump maintenance. Founded by Denis Ogwang and incubated by Young Water Solutions in 2021, WaterKit has grown from a simple idea into a technology-driven business that currently serves 613 handpumps, providing reliable clean water to 200,000 people across Northern Uganda.

The Vision

WaterKit is enabling a future where every Ugandan handpump is sustained by its community. Through technology, transparency, and a profitable business model, WaterKit transforms broken, opaque water points into visible, accountable, and revenue-generating assets that deliver clean water for generations.

About The Opportunity:

We are looking for 16 talented individuals to participate in a 12-hour innovation challenge. You will work in teams to develop creative solutions for water access challenges in Uganda. 

About the Grand Prize: 

Top 4 winning participants will receive a 4-6 month paid internship as  Graduate Trainee(Sales) at WaterKit. This is a field-based role where you will:

1. Travel to communities (using WaterKit-provided motorbikes with fuel allowance).

2. Onboard new handpumps onto the WaterKit monitoring system.

3. Train community water committees.

4. Work with local leaders to expand water access.

5. Earn a competitive monthly stipend plus performance incentives. 

Who Should Apply:
We especially encourage fresh graduates (2023-2025) and candidates from Marketing, Social Sciences, Community Development, and related fields to apply. You do NOT need to be a programmer or engineer—we value your people skills, creativity, and willingness to learn!

Renumeration: EUR 250-300 per month.
